The global sleeping aids market generated US$69.5 billion in revenue in 2017, with a compound annual growth rate of 6.5% forecast for 2018–2023 due to the growing prevalence of insomnia and obstructive sleep apnea disorders, rising use of portable sleep apnea devices, increasing government support for start-up companies, growing healthcare facilities, a surge in demand for sleeping pills attributed to stressful modern lifestyle and a growing geriatric population.
Mondias has developed its first natural health product line with proven efficacy for sleep and anxiety disorders. This sleeping aid product is non-addictive, with no known tolerance and no rebound effects.
Mondias is pursuing research to assess if its new sleeping aid product can induce restorative sleep in patients suffering from chronic pain.
The current prescription-drug analgesics and narcotics used to manage pain decrease the quality of sleep. This would be the first analgesic with hypnotic benefits that induces a restful restorative sleep. If successful, this product will constitute a major advancement in the treatment of pain and insomnia.
